Roqayah Chamseddine Confronts Donald Rumsfeld

Ikhras’ friend and guest contributor Roqayah Chamseddine bravely stood up to mass murderer Donald Rumsfeld (she is the second activist in the below video). The day any of the House Arabs and House Muslims confront a war criminal this way, or at least stops collaborating with imperialism and Zionism, Ikhras will be happy to stop writing about them on its pages.

This is how you handle a war criminal. Not by dining with them as Hussein Ibish did with “Israel’s” ambassador Michael Oren or like ISNA’s leadership stuffs its faces at the White House. Not by hosting them as keynote speakers at your convention as ADC has done with Colin Powell and Bill Clinton (Barack Obama almost made the list but rejected ADC’s invitation, which was deservedly humiliating). Not by working with the empire’s diplomatic arm like Faisal Abdul Rauf, Dean Obeidallah and Radwan Ziadeh. Not by working within the system like James Zogby.

It took Roqayah courage to confront Rumsfeld not only because she disregarded the fears the Arab and Muslim community senses under the yoke of the attacks on civil liberties, but also because the audience’s reaction to the first activist indicated the crowd was hostile and afforded more value to the empire’s figureheads than to Arab blood.

Kudos to both Roqayah and her co-protester for rejecting complacency and docility. Their example inspires us.

Those finding humour show the insanely disgusting face of Americans. The 3rd paragraph illustrates candidly. Fear not it is coming home and I will have no pity or protest for you scumbag goons.

“We have little concern about our violations of human rights in Guantanamo. ….the real horrors – of this war come with the primitive killer mentality developed in our youth. I’ve now seen a half dozen documentary films and read eyewitness accounts that reveal troops or pilots gloating over the massacres of civilians who just happened to be available targets.” Paul J. “It is the policy of the United States government to provoke violent extremist groups into action. Once they are in play, their responses can then be used in whatever way the government that provoked them sees fit. And we also know that these provocations are being used, as a matter of deliberate policy, to rouse violent groups on the “Af-Pak” front to launch terrorist attacks.”  Chris Floyd “Darkness Renewed: Terror as a Tool of Empire,” 04/2009)
“We have now reached a stage where our extreme horrors of brutality and cruelty have exceeded our past records. We no longer have the rationale of moral righteousness of the earlier wars…. There were no excuses for Abu-Ghraib, but our interest in that inhuman travesty dried up and blew away. We have little concern about our violations of human rights in Guantanamo. ….the real horrors – of this war come with the primitive killer mentality developed in our youth. I’ve now seen a half dozen documentary films and read eyewitness accounts that reveal troops or pilots gloating over the massacres of civilians who just happened to be available targets.” Paul J.
