Mona Eltahawy slightly improving

We’d criticized Mona Eltahawy’s racist, sexist support for the French niqab ban. Ikhras notices improvement in Eltahawy’s discourse during her debate with Tariq Ramadan about the same topic.

This time, unlike in her Washington Post article, she didn’t say there was no similarity between women’s faces and minaret stone indicating she probably understands the analogy by now. And she didn’t blame European liberals for failing to interpret Islam for women. Keep it up, Mona. Hopefully you’ll retract your support for the niqab ban soon. Is it too much to hope you might stop bragging about normalizing with “Israel” on your website too?

    Asalamu Aliakum!

    Well said. Glad to see others picking up what we(circa 2004) started against the pro-regressive “Muslims,”charlatans who tried to hijack and misrepresent Islam for their Judeofascist masters. Salman, you took the words out of my mouth.
    Eltahawy is just another low class know-nothing sycophant who worships at the altar of a US visa, I have yet to read a single article by her which wasn’t a steaming pile of excrement(a qualification for being a “journalist” in US state media). Here is one of my replies from years ago to her “Palestine isn’t an Islamic issue” nonsense :

    http://living-tradition.blogspot.com/2005/08/palestine-is-muslim-issue.html

    She is a supporter of the US invasion and occupation of Iraq, has backed virtually every provovation against the Muslim community from the Danish hate cartoons to the bans on hijabs and niqabs.

    She reminds me of the fossil Nawal El Saadawi, another demented charlatan from Egypt.

      I pretty much agree with you “Dr” M, except I must say that your hateful stance is really a turn off. The picture that you “doctored” on your blog of Ms. Eltahawy is really pretty childish. The Prophet taught us to be compassionate even towards our enemies. Your comments would be better served with a little less vehemence. Salaam to you.

        @K.Anderson,

        I don’t see what’s got you so worked up. Adding a Pinocchio type nose to a pic of Eltahawy is pretty mild considering that she lies and misrepresents for a living. Maybe your feminist conditioning translates uncompromising criticism of female opportunists as a bad thing? Ho hum.
        I have no love for hate mongering sell outs and zionist miscreants whatsoever. Walaa Wa Baraa all the way.

    A Wolfowitz endorsed, political prostitute of the secular Arab dictatorship loving variety, comes out with some rather twisted justifications for the status quo. Some of her most excellent gems (conveniently not featured prominently anymore on her blog):

    “Palestine is NOT a Muslim Issue”:

    Here is Mr. Ben Gurion’s response:

    “If I were an Arab leader, I would NEVER sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti -Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault ? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?”

    No improvement whatsoever. Eltahawy remains a self-hating fame-seeking low-self-esteemed Arab.

    Hmmm…I wouldn’t call that an improvement, and I doubt see gets the analogy. I heard her on that show and I had the same reaction to her answers as I did for her Washington Post comments. I really object to the smug attitude that she exudes when she asserts herself as “the voice” of feminist Muslimahs. There are LOTS of us out here that have just as valid thoughts and concerns, that swing widely away from hers.
