Whenever 4th of July comes around David “Go GOP” Ramadan, formerly Imad Ramadan, finds creative ways to solidify his status as the leading Arab immigrant buffoon. This 4th of July the Lebanese immigrant-turned-neighborhood-spectacle passed out 5,000 American flags with his name on them as part of his campaign for a seat in the Virgina House of Delegates.
Lebanese-American buffoon, David “Go GOP” Ramadan, is easily the most transparently phony patriot in the Arab-American immigrant community. He exhibits all the symptoms of an inferiority complex, and is oblivious to the fact that we Americans are not falling for his circus act. We see through you David. You seem to forget we’re not just Arabs, we’re Americans, and we don’t appreciate your constant attempts to deceive us. Your appeals to chauvinistic American nationalism is not what we want from an immigrant or for this country. Do you really think we’re so easily fooled? You may have turned your back on your community, changed your name, disassociated from your religion, and supported our government’s wars in the Arab world, including complicity in the destruction of your own childhood neighborhood, but we Americans find it offensive you associate this behavior with being American. That is not how we would like to define ourselves. We want a society that is welcoming of all people from all backgrounds and cultures. We don’t want anyone to feel they must change their name and deny their religious or ethnic heritage. We don’t want any immigrants to come into this country and lead the cheers for a war on the people they left behind in their country of origin. And we definitely don’t need any immigrant promoting a narrow, chauvinistic, and militaristic version of American patriotism.
This 4th of July comes as you’re running for public office so we expected something extra special from you as you set out to prove how deliriously happy you are to be a citizen of our country, but you even managed to surpass our expectations. Passing out 5,000 American flags with your name on them is a campaign gimmick which, along with your generous contributions to local Republicans, shows you’re willing to spend money to get elected. Whether your money buys you a seat in the Virginia HOD remains to be seen, but win or lose its all very transparent. Everyone sees through you Ya Imad, Arabs and Americans. You went from being a Lebanese immigrant to a local neighborhood spectacle. Since you insist on continuing your undignified, self-demeaning public behavior we would like to suggest that for your next staged campaign stunt you hold a rally in a public park, pass out shoes to the first 5,000 people in attendance (or 5,000 shoes to the 3 people who show up), and then stand up straight so they can be thrown at you.
