Politics aside, and the characterization of Mr. Ramadan as a buffoon is certainly apt, unless the money he raised was drawn from his own personal wealth, this can’t possibly be construed as “buying” an election; by that definition, every victorious candidate who also happened to out-raise his opponent also “bought” his election, though I can’t recall any sanctimonious harrumphing from the Left over the fact that Barack Obama raised USD 750 million for his election campaign, and is poised to raise another USD 1 billion for his reëlection effort.  One could make the argument that, by staking substantial amounts of their own personal fortunes on their campaigns, people like Carly Fiorina, Meg Whitman, and Mitt Romney attempted to “buy” their respective elections.  For all his considerable faults, in this case Mr. Ramadan is guilty of little more than highly effective fundraising and being a Republican at a time when Barack Obama and the “progressive” project writ large have both been exposed as vacuous frauds.
